		Robert J. Cairo, PT

	Robert J. Cairo, PT, joined Tidewater Physical Therapy in 1990 and is the Clinical Director of our Ocean View, DE clinic. In addition, Bob provides patient care in our new clinic on Old Orchard Road in Lewes, DE. Mr. Cairo graduated from the University of Delaware receiving a Bachelors degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training. He earned his Masters degree in Exercise Physiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation from Springfield College in Massachusetts and went on to earn his Physical Therapy degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Bob is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, The Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, The National Strength and Conditioning Association, and is a certified exercise technologist with the American College of Sports Medicine. Bob has successfully completed a variety of continuing education courses which include McKenzie Spinal Program, Mobilizations of the neural system, and trigger point muscle release, along with soft tissue and joint mobilizations. In addition, Bob is a certified active release provider (ART).. Bob provides care in the areas of Orthopedics and Neurological Disorders, sports medicine, post-surgical and joint replacement rehabilitation, auto accident, and work-related injuries.

	Joseph P. Whalen, PT., joined Tidewater Physical Therapy in 1987 and is the Clinical Director of our Lewes-Angola Clinic, in addition Joe also provides patient care in our new clinic on Old Orchard Road in Lewes. Joe received his Bachelor of Science Degree and a certificate of proficiency in Physical Therapy from the University of Delaware in 1980. Joe is a certified Manual Orthopedic Therapist through the Institute of Graduate Physical Therapy in St. Augustine, Florida. Joe relies on over 25 years of continuing education in the field of orthopedic manual therapy and uses an eclectic approach combining his training in joint mobilization, counter strain, myofacial release, muscle energy techniques, soft tissue mobilization, and trigger point treatment to effectively treat all types of musculoskeletal dysfunction.
